I recently upgraded to a Skylake rig and after reading a lot of past posts, I noticed Kyle had mentioned not to trust certain applications vcore readings because they could be much higher than the actual vcore the chip is getting.
Now I'm tweaking my system and I've run into an issue I think that involves this. At 4.5 Ghz CPUZ and HWmonitor both claim my vcore is sitting at 1.320 to 1.336 depending on the load and test. At the same time Intel's own XTU is telling me my vcore is only between 1.289 and 1.304 during this same testing period.
In this case neither reading exactly matches the VID reported by the CPU in Coretemp. The Intel XTU reading is much closer to it though.
So which reading do I trust? My motherboard has testing points for using a multimeter but I sliced the crap out of my hand on a case earlier so I won't be able to do any testing myself for a few days.
