Which Ultra PSU should I keep ?

I purchased 3 new PSU's over the past couple of weeks from deals found on FatWallet, for a new system I am building. Now I just need to figure out which 1 to keep, and I'll Fleabay the other 2. Here are the PSU's I've purchased;
-Ultra X-Connect 500w
-Ultra X-Finity 500w
-Ultra 120mm V-Series 500w

Which one should I keep/use for my new system?
TIA,
-BassKozz

The fact that that's a tough decision makes me want to pull your "PC DIY" card. ;)

The V-Series is, as the name applies, a "Value" power supply.

The X-Connect is a two year old product made by a manufacturer that's had some ..ahem.. "problems" (Youngyear.)

The X-Finity is made by Wintech (decent) has dual 12V rails, is SLI certified for 6x cards and is Crossfire certified for X1600.

I would think the decision would be a no brainer. :D

Hmmm, unless you are determined to use an Ultra, you could Fleabay all of them and get one of these PSU's
Just a thought. ;)

Brilliant. Link him to a year old list of PSU's that actually has the X-Finity already on it.

EDIT: Just poking funny, BTW. I don't mean any offense.

i had the x-connect and it was okay for awhile then it couldn't power my radiator anymore when i went PCIe on my machine. i have an x-infinity now, 550, and it works great.

There is no X-Finity 550W. It's either a 500W or a 600W.

Yes, it is old, but the link is in a sticky, so that makes it all good, right? ;)
I didn't see X-Finity listed anywhere in it. I probably just missed it.

Assuming the X-finity 500 watt is anywhere near as good as the 600 watt (which I've been running for about 6 months), I'd say stick with the X-finity 500.

sure it's a 500w??? well i feel like a dumbass. that factory defect antec i had musta been a 550w. ya'll sure???

LOL! Yeah. The Antec was a 550W and the Ultra is a 500W. Just look at their site. :D

SLI doesn't matter to me, I am not using this rig for gameing...
I will be putting this PSU in a storage server (with 9+HD's)
Is the X-Finity still the way to go?

So you're contemplating NOT keeping the better of the three power supplies?

I'm reaching for your DIY card... I'm a good pick pocket.......

for 9 hd's yeah you need the x-finity. SATA or IDE? if IDE, prepare to buy some extra cables.

I also just remembered I also picked up a:
Cooler Master eXtreme Power (600w)

But I've heard this is really just a 550w with a 600w lable on it ;)
But still, should I use this PSU (CoolerMaster eXtreme) or the Ultra X-Finity ?

Thanks for all the help,

Actually, it's not even a 550W. It's a 500W. Look through the grill in the back and you can actually see the Seventeam part number "ST-500....." on the PCB.

Given the choice between the Cooler Master or the X-Finity, I'd say the Cooler Master. It's more efficient and quieter. I like the cables on the X-Finity better though. I route all of my cables so you can't even see them and the FlexForce cables make that easy. But if you just want the better PSU of the two, it's going to be the Cooler Master.

Ok,

I am going with the CoolerMaster.
Now for a really newb/dumb question...
The ATX power connector on the CoolerMaster PSU comes with an extra 4pin connector... Do I connect this to the MoBo's ATX port 20+4 or do I connected it to the MoBo's extra ATX 12v port (only 4 ports)?

Here is layout and picture of my mobo:
1710-layout.gif

Notice Top Left ATX12v1 and far right center/upper is where the 20+4pin connector is.

It's a OEM Mobo from compaq. More details HERE if needed.

Ok... Your DIY card has been officially pulled.

Not only do the different connectors not phyiscally fit.... the four pin that has the one yellow, one red, one orange and one black are the last four pins that make a 20-pin ATX into a 24-pin ATX.

The 4-pin that goes into "ATX12V1" has two yellow and two black and is also coming out of that power supply.

I missed the 4-pin (2yellow/2black)... I didn't see it at 1st, now I found it.
Sorry,

what mobo is that? a K8N?

Since it says "A8AE-LE" right on it, I'm going to say no. ;)

It's an Asus A8AE-LE motherboard.
