Which Thermal Paste to Get?

I dropped 4c after cure on my 480 with AS5.

I've been an AS5 guy for a very long time, but I have to admit, MX-4 got me 2 more degrees on my H60.
 
Yep. Most aren't capacitive or conductive, but those containing metal / particular oxides can be.

Whether "conductive" or "capacitive" AS5 while pretty innocent, might cause a problem.

Which is why I went to using NT-H1.:D
 
I'm buying online in China, I checked all the above recommendations and Noctua NT-H1 1g is extremely affordable. Though it is only 1g. If I buy a larger plunger, say 3.5g and apply it once with the rest of it keep?
 
If you really want to bring your temps as low as possible, there is not the slightest doubt you should get the Indigo Xtreme. These also sell as Maingear Epic T1000 which is exactly the same.

It's pretty expensive tho, $20 for a set which you can use twice.

Though, its about 3 degrees under every other thermal compound there is.
 
ya, i was looking at getting some indigo xtreme for a corsair h100 setup until i found some stories online of people who tried it. Not sure if the "settling" or whatever its called simply works better for large metal heatsinks or what but i am yet to find a good personal story online of someone using it with one of the corsair hydros. Everyone talks about their computers automatically shutting down due to heat reasons before the process gets close to finishing . . .
