• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Which Thermal Compound?

That is intense!! thank you for the info Topweasel. Sounds like way too much hassle and risk for ~5 degrees.

5-10 depending on setup. Thats the difference between HT on and HT off for some users.

Wow! I believe THAT might be the textbook definition of [H]

Can't touch it without the gloves and you have to run your system really hot the first time you use it. Like 90 Celsius hot. At $20 a pop for about 5 degrees, not knowing what HSF configurations it will work with, keeping it imperfection free, and running your CPU without a fan to the point of throttling, doesn't seem like its worth the effort.

I mean read this.

http://indigo-xtreme.com/docs/indigoxtremeinstallation-1155-1156xtremeclean.pdf its a 20 step process.

none of those links have data on the IC diamond? from the looks of that huge chart though, AS5 still works fine if you still have some (which i do lol)

mostly within 1-2 degrees difference between eachother is nothing to stress about.

Part of the problem of that reasoning is:

It is very hard to get great contact. Skinneelabs used a modified waterblock to get the great contact, which represents virtually no real world scenarios. The moderate contact is a much better indication of real world scenarios. It's right in the review:

As for “Great” contact, I might have gone a little overboard; no block on the market has contact this great.

Moderate contact is where it's most likely to be, maybe between moderate and great for a person who spends a lot of time making sure that everything is seated correctly. Here, the gaps are more like 3-4 C.
