I see people quoting CPU temps all over the place in the forums. I have to wonder how they are being measured though. I built a new E6600 system this weekend. I have monitored temps in 4 different applications: Core Temp, Intel TAT, SpeedFan, and Gigabyte's EasyTune 5. EasyTune and SpeedFan show similar readings, although not always identical. Core Temp and Intel TAT show similar readings, although these two are never exactly the same. The big difference is between these two groups, SpeedFan and EasyTune are a good 10 degrees cooler than Core Temp or Intel TAT.
So, first off, what is the difference in the way these apps measure the temp? Secondly, what temps are you guys quoting when you post them?
Thanks for the clarification...
