The only once readily available for me would be the Belkin SurgeMaster (Maximum Series) and limited models of the APC make.

I'm setting up a new PC that should be this weekend. The components are:
2x 8800 GTX
Intel C2D X6800
Asus Striker Extreme
Silverstone 850W PSU
6 HDDs (plus 4 more when I get a good SATA controller or just 2 if I can somehow figure out how to get the 2 external plugs go back in)
Watercooling

PLUS of course (maybe):

2* Acer 20" Wide monitors (at least 2)
Multi-purpose Printer
Bose speakers
Mouse charger, USB hub, router, DSL modem, and etc. etc. all the extras.

Also a Powerbook G4 (last series).

Right now I have a Belkin SurgeMaster Maximum Series 8-plugs (see, http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=144192)

A similar UK spec can be found here: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=135062

I'm just not sure if this thing can handle the load, and I'm not particularly knowledgeable about Surge Protectors. It says something about 230V 10A on the switch, does that mean that it will only provide until 10A ?

Any insight would be really great to know... thanks a bunch !

Why not invest in a good UPS instead to protect your investment. It looks like you can certainly afford it. Take a look at an APC 1500v/865watt unit to feed your psu good clean power.

I'm not really into UPS. If no electricity the better...at least I get a rest ;) (or maybe just a 15 minute UPS, enough time to shutdown at least)

I just don't want my stuff to go break because of power surges. Corruption of windows I don't care, gives me an excuse to be out of work. Corruption of project data I don't care, gives me an excuse to extend the deadline. I just can't make an excuse that something smoked off on my computer because of a power surge :D

Exactly the reasons to get a UPS with line conditioning. The UPS will stabilize the voltage, elimiating spikes and sags (which probably does some good for the electronics ;) ). I use mine for that reason alone, I really don't care about getting an extra 5 minutes of computing in.
