Which SSD?

If you have SATA 3, then absolutely. Otherwise it's a toss up depending on how long you intend to keep your current motherboard.

Nah only Sata 2, and I'll probably keep it until after the next Intel stuff(the stuff after Ivy bridge, after that :D).

So Mushkin makes more sense?
 
Why all the sandforce hate? I have had this G.Skill for over a year now and it's still running perfectly.

A lot of people had SandForce problems, especially BSODs. Some of it appeared to be chipset-specific and other (earlier) problems I think were caused by some vendors shipping RC firmware.

I have four SF(-1200) drives and have never had a problem so far, and love them. But there are definitely a lot of bad experiences had by people.

Of course the same could be said of the Intel 320 but it by and large gets a pass it seems.

I think sleep/standby is what caused most of the issues, a feature that I never use(for this reason and just because I don't think its very good)
 
Suspend to RAM is awesome, especially for an OS like Windows that doesn't support saving desktop sessions like OS X and some linux distros do.

Fortunately STR isn't like the old-school ancient Sleep (S1) that used to be around with the older motherboards. That was awful. Maybe it would wake up... maybe it wouldn't... and even then most of the system was still powered on... lol.
 
ohh and for the record i'd get the mushkin if it's the synchronous nand variety. jmo.

I have a number of Vertex 3 SSDs (Regular and MIOPS) and all the sandforce controller issues I had have been remedied since the 2.15 firmware was released.
