Which Speakers?

Creative Inspire 2.1 (I currently have these)

Logitech X-230 (I can get these for $10.00)

Which would you choose and why.

Pick up the $10 speakers, and make yourself a 4.1 system. I had 2 sets of altec lansing 2.1 speakers hooked up A LONG time ago, and it worked great. Dual subwoofers were cool too.

Dual subs and 4 speakers...wouldn't that be 4.2?

eh not really. yeah the speakers are physically 4.2. but, your source is not. so its more like taking surround sound and "upmixing" the extra .1

actually, since the signal to the subs is probably split, it's not even an "upmix"...

depending on your ability to position, dual subs can be real helpful in eliminating nulls in the low end of the frequency curve... not that that is really a consideration here, but more as a "by the way"...
