Edit: Headphones aren't an option either, last one damaged my hearing... still recovering years later.

A lot of people seems to like the M-Audio AV40 and the Swans M10. I am not sure how much it is in eur though.

Get the bolded Altecs. Its the best one from your choices and for your budget.

Respectfully, how did you manage to do that Nolimit?

My guess is that's how he got his forum handle. :)

I am going to agree that out of that list, the Altec's are probably your best bet, but I haven't heard 50-60% of those.

I don't want to get some crappy thing :S

Most of the items you listed are all made of thin walled plastic, the absolute last thing you want to make speakers out of. Generally they are all considered crappy.

I'll do some Euro to Dollar conversions and get back to you with some more suitable suggestions.

EDIT

That will take to much work on my part.. lol. I'll just give you some companies and you can research Euro prices yourself. ;)

Swan
M-Audio
Audioengine
Samson
JBL
Mackie
Behringer
Alesis
Yamaha
Tascam
Edirol

Good luck!

Just say NO computer speakers!

those Altec's are a great buy for the price, both of these are good buys:

the 4221's just come with the remote and adjustable stands, not sure if they break your budget (and a simple euro to dollar conversion isn't fair, because in his market, things may cost more as a result of tarrifs, import fees, or stores simply price hiking due to availability (as a note to anyone else))

i've heard good things about these, but have not used them myself (if I had to pick, I'd take the models above over these, saves a few bucks, the sub is FAR less bulky, and I know those sound good)

these aren't bad, but given your budget you can very easily do better, but you probably wouldn't be disappointed

moving away from Altec Lansing, I'd look at the Klipsch ProMedias or the Logitech THX 2.1 (no idea what its model # is, it doesn't sound too bad for the ~$120 US it costs though), although you'll run the price up a bit

nobody asked you to do hours of work just to show us you're still here, who considers "all of them as crappy", and who says plastic is the last thing to make speakers out of? your opinion isn't wrong, but theres no reason to force it on someone just because their budget doesn't agree with your feeling of what everyone has to own to be "good enough"

Who is forcing anything? I'm not sure what you are getting at, but if you think good speakers can be made out of plastic.... :p

This has nothing to do with budget, many of the brands I listed have quality speakers well within his budget.

Hmm, I did audition one pair of loudspeakers once that were made out of plastic when I was a whee youngin. However, these weren't your everyday, Logitech/Creative 2mm thick ABS plastic enclosures :) Made of several layers of different plastics engineered for different sound dampening characteristics, with a few layers of a strange rubbery plastic in between. Not to mention the level of work that went into the interior chambers of these things, gawd, beautiful beautiful beasties. Never can remember what they're called.

Your original statement still stands though, thin plastic is not a good speaker enclosure material, though it is very easy and cheap to manufacture in appealing shapes and sizes.

I'll bite. With enough engineering done to dampen resonance in the plastic and thicken it, I'm sure it can eventually be made to sound alright. But like you said, that's not the same as the 2mm ABS enclosures we see here.
