im thinkin of creative x-fi xtrememusic or xtremegamer

If you're willing to step it up more, go for a better X-Fi card. If you can, X-Fi Prelude is the way to go IMO

I completely agree
Most of us only need to buy a soundcard once in 3+ PC generations so its the longest lasting investment.
You might as well get a good card, its effectively the cheapest high performance upgrade over 5+ years you will make!

If you are still considering the X-Fi cards, get the Xtreme Gamer as the Xtreme Music is discontinued,
