Which slim BR drive

The Panasonic UJ-265 IS the same model as the Silverstone unit.

The UJ-265 is generally half the cost ($80), but can only be bought without packaging and possibly lacking warranty. At half the cost of the Silverstone unit, you could buy 2 if one fails. The Silverstone unit includes a cable and a very outdated piece of software.

-edit- The silverstone unit looks like its on sale for $130 down from the usual $170. You will have to decide for yourself if that cable and warranty are worth $50, the bundled software is still nearly useless.

From what I've heard, the UJ-265 is the go to unit for anyone needing a slim blu-ray drive. However, that demand probably has a lot to do with the necessity of the slot-load design which is common on several Silverstone cases (FT03, FT05, RV05) as well as the NCase SFF case.

So the Panasonic is better than the LG?

im assuming it's not worth it, but I'd like the peace of mind of a warranty

The cable (albeit not fancy sleeved like that) should be available for around $5-ish.

Worthless software or not, if you plan to actually watch Blu Ray movies on a computer, you need some kind of software for playback. Do your research on that before purchasing the drive.

I'm getting Powersdvd 15 for software

You could use MakeMKV to just watch the movie but you won't get the fancy menus and stuff.
