I am going to be getting back on a plan with T-Mobile, I like T-Mobile, I dont like Verizon, so personal choice on that one, but I'm stuck as to which phone I will be getting, so;

Sony Xperia Z
HTC One
Nokia 925

I like Nokia as a company, and I love Windows Phones, and 8MP camera on the back with pureview tech makes for a good multi-use device.

HTC One, heard awesome things about it, and I love the music capabilities of it as an electronic device

Xperia Z, looks great, and has SnapDragon processor and 2GB memory, which is kinda nice for a cell phone, plus it has 13MP rear-camera, so any thoughts?

All depends in what you want. But since I rather like my 920...

If you love Windows Phone you might as well get the 925 as you also seem to like Nokia. WP is basically the polarizing feature at the moment for Nokia phones. But you need to keep in mind hardware wise WP devices might be getting a big jump (resolution, SoC) in the near future with WP updates. So if that will bother you it is something to consider.

Other then looks your other reason's for the Sony Xperia are not very good. The memory amount is basically standard among other high end android phones currently (comparing with WP is not completely apples to apples). The SoC is an older version now (and considered more lower end) than the current Snapdragons in phones like the HTC One (the other android you listed) which uses the S600 and will further bumped down as the S800 phones are now trickling out. While the camera is 13MP this by itself does not really indicate a quality camera and as far as I know the camera of the Xperia has not given a very good impression (the sensor size I believe is very small to achieve the MP count). The other two phones you mentioned are generally considered to have better cameras (although the HTC One might be a bit polarizing). If a 13MP camera is important to you consider the Galaxy S4 instead (although I hate to plug it :p). The Xperia is water resistant though and of course aesthetics are a personal preference. One other issue though is it is rather late in its life cycle already, you are almost buying a "last gen" phone at this point (and I don't think the price is any cheaper for you).

The music (audio in general) advantage for the HTC One is attributed to two things. It has the best speaker setup at the moment for phones. Also supposedly there is actual difference with the Beats audio implementation now aside from simply acting as an equalizer. Specs wise it is higher than the Xperia. The vast majority will consider the display better. The camera is generally considered better.

At the end in my opinion phones these days are more about personal fit. There is no best phone. All of them have pros/cons against each other, and of course certain aspects of phones and the weight they carry (like design) will be forever subjective.

So far the HTC One is winning it feature wise, but I really did want a Windows Phone lol

I wish the HTC One had Windows on it ;)

I never mentioned the S4 in my pole soly because I really hate how cheap it feels, my dad got one and I thought it was SUPER cheap.

I have a 928, and honestly you are not going to notice the SoC and ram differences vs the HTC.

The only real significant advantage the HTC has is androids app store.

It also breaks very easily!

There are mock-ups floating around with WP8 on the One. Will it happen? Who knows?

I have the one, and I love it. Honestly, I'd be a bit nervous about getting the Sony if I was known for dropping my phone, but you can't deny how gorgeous it is.

If you really want to, you can always have the best of both worlds... AT&T is selling their prepaid Nokia 520 (521?) for $90, get one of the T-mo android phones, and swap sims when you want to change things up. :)

I think the XperiaZ is out of the running now, so really its between the ONE and the 925 (could get a 928 instead).

easier than a GS4? Don't think so. Every smartphone would break with enough force on it. Youtube drop test videos, and see which one breaks least often. You can take a general tread with enough random test results.

The only real significant advantage the HTC has is androids app store.

And the significantly better/higher res display.

And the front facing speakers that are louder and sound better than any other phone.

And the IR blaster.

And twice the internal storage.

I'd go for the One. I think I'm going to get my Wife the One on Verizon when it launches in a couple weeks.

I ended up getting the Droid DNA on sale and it's all but the immediate predecessor to the current HTC One...

...and it's a fucking badass phone. As much as I hate the built in battery, I get decent life out of it (a typical day brings me down to about 60%) and it's smooooooooth as buttah. Great performance, beautiful screen (which only gets better as the One is 470 PPI versus the 440 PPI on the DNA) but the DNA has other perks like Wireless charging and a higher (though worse in low light) megapixel camera.

All said, it's easy to see where the DNA influenced the current One and I'd be happy as hell using one or the other.

The DNA is an amazing phone and really shitty we (the US) only got the verizon droid version, really wanted the butterfly.

Really loving the HTC one, Just picked it up recently and it is probably the nicest phone I have ever used.

I was talking about the GS4. I had mine fall 3 feet onto carpet while in a case and screen protector break. The Amoled screen under the glass broke.

Htc one.. because its aluminum housing seems realy solid.
Sony isn't bad too , but with stupid soft (as i know)

Bought HTC One the day it was launch in Singapore and I LOVE IT!!! (Especially the aluminium case and HTC Sense 5.0) Relief that I did not choose BB Z10 over it or even bother waiting for Samsung S4.

Now watch OP get the 925 after seeing the One get over 3/4s of the votes. :p

didn't he already said he got a DROID DNA already? Or was that someone else who got tricked by the Verizon salesman... Nvm, someone else!

LOL. But, hey, at least it's not apple... Amirite

That was Techrat (post #13) who got the DNA. OP is FrEaKy.

I played with a Sprint One the other day at my Sam's Club and it was amazingly fast. Definitely a bit smoother than my Note 2, but then again it had nothing installed or running outside of stock apps/services. I liked how the notification shade has a really fast/snappy movement to it. I want to get this phone for my wife, but I hope it's not too big for her or else I might get the Droid Mini. Her current Rezound (4.3" display) is about as big as she wants her phone to be. If the One Mini was coming to Verizon, that would be perfect for her.

Hah, indeed. As much as I hate Apple, I have to recognize that they make a good product and iOS has its advantages over other platforms. I actually think my wife would be happier with an iPhone for how she uses her phone. But I just don't want any Apple devices in my house, lol. That and we use Hangouts exclusively and a lot of other Google services, so naturally Android would be better for that. I think with the current Android flagships and recent JB updates, Android is now completely competitive with iOS in pretty much every aspect. I came to that assesment while I was playing with the One and iPhone 5 side by side at the Sam's Club the other day. The One was every bit as fast/smooth as the iPhone while having the much more versitile and customizable OS.

If I were still in the market today for a new phone, Moto X would be it. So I think she would enjoy the droid mini, but you know that it ain't getting updates... well, not true, but you know what I mean. I would trust that the Moto X be getting updates much sooner than the Droid.

No trickery. The Droid DNA is fucking badass and very similar to the One. Even the volume rocker buttons are identical in design.

Poll complete.

Going to get HTC ONE ;)

I am also grabbing a Lumia 521 as pointed out in an earlier post as a backup phone incase I have issues with the ONE and gives me the Windows Phone I still want for other things

I wish it hit other carriers then verizon.

So do I. Verizon's rates sucks nuts unless you're sharing a plan AND getting some work related discounts.

I'm not thrilled with the metal back design on the One, myself... and the DNA has wireless induction charging. It comes close to being the ideal phone for me right now. I much prefer the 8MP camera in it than the Ultrapixel 4MP camera in the One. Would much prefer to have a physical shutter button as well, but tradeoffs are tradeoffs. The screen is incredible and battery life is really good.

Well, glad you got it, co worker has it and loves to flash it off to me once in a while.

It IS worth noting that the radios are completely unlocked. GSM and HSPA+ both. I think also LTE since the sim is used for that on Verizon's network. You can swap sims if you get it off contract or used.

Yea, I found that out at the time, its just that at the time I wasnt able to get the phone for full price either.

You just actually reminded me I have a few good options, I may go snipe one off of ebay.

The issue is updates. I'm sorry, but the first Android update you'll see is probably Android 4.3.1 next March, after google released 4.3.3 and soon-to-be/already announced 5.0...

BTW, I've been using the HTC One for a while. Last week, I had some weird glitch due to Chromecast and someone calling me; after failing to pick up the call, every time I press the power button, the screen turned on for a split second and went off again. As I was nearing the power reset button combo due to probably hitting the power button like 20 times, the phone had finally decided to function correctly. Then I remember or don't remember ever using the power reset combo besides testing to see the button combo works. This phone has been pretty solid, most reliable smartphone I've ever had. It's probably the same in most phones of this generation. Hardware has finally truly caught up to cover most of Android's flaws. Thank you, Qualcomm!
