Right now I have 2x5850's. But i'm thinking about getting one 5870. Which would b the better option?? OR should I just wait for the refresh?

2x5850 is a great setup, why would you need something better? That setup can run any game on max, except if you are going for Eyefinity, but should be good enough to play all games, maybe not with all settings up.

I wouldn't swap out 2 5850's for one 5870. Are you having issues running crossfire? Even a refresh likely won't give you a worthwhile upgrade from what you have.

Exactly. Unless he got CF problems 2 5850 should be faster than a single 5870. If he got a good cooler on the 2 5850's he can clock them and get even better performance.

The only thing I would upgrade to right now would be the Sapphire Toxic 2GB 5870, it might outrun the two 5850s.

But, you have essentially a 5970 in your computer right now and that's pretty good stuff, right there.

I have been having some issues with BC2 with crossfire, but not enough to make the game unplayable. Hopefully a driver and patch update will resolve my issues. Guess I will be keeping what I got. Thanks for the advice

I have a xfx5870 and enjoy the pleasures of no dual gpu problems although i would give my left nut for a
5850 crossfire setup.
stay with your crossfire setup unless u are having major problems and need to go with a single gpu
in that case letst trade....hehe

crysis performance here

Obviously crossfire is faster. There may be a few more headaches here and there with whatever implementation (or lack thereof) in whatever game. But it will be faster than a single 5870.

some people cant deal with microstutter that seems to happen on some games and configuration.
doesnt bother me.
i upgraded 2x 4870 's
to a 5870 = cooler,98% as fast and well oc like hell.
wouldnt mind picking up a 5850 later down the road to crossfire a 5870 and 5850

or sell the 5870 and go 2 5850..
