Hello [H]ardOCP members,

I am wondering which RAID controller would be better for my raptor drives. I have the VIA RAID and the Promise Fast Track 378 Serial ATA RAID. My guy instinct is telling me to go with the Promise Fast Track 378 but I don't know how well the VIA RAID will perform. Did anybody here do some bechmarks on the ASUS A8V deluxe motherboard to find out ( my system info is in my signature ). Thanks :)

VIA VIA VIA VIA VIA VIA VIA!!!!

The VIA raid is on the southbridge, which means mucho bandwidth!!! The Promise controller is on the PCI bus, which means no bandwidth :(

Putting a Raptor on the PCI bus is like [insert dumb thing here]

But yeah, data drives for the promise controller, and your main drive on the VIA.
