Ok, well I'm ordering some new RAM due to difficulties with my computer and I think it the problem is incompatible RAM. So I'd like some help on what RAM to choose from.

I have a Gigabyte 890fxa-ud5 board, AMD 1090t processor and an ATI 6970.

G-Skill Flare

The mushkin has 8gb for only $10 dollars more so I'm kinda leaning towards that, but I'm not sure if that RAM would work for my board opposed to the Flares which seem to be very focused on AMD systems.

Yeah be wary of those extra large heatsinks. My G.Skill Ripjaws just barely fit under my cooler. Unless you're water cooling.

The CORSAIR Vengeance as shown above has tall heatsink and could be problematic with large CPU coolers. It usually better for Intel processors

The G.Skill Flare series kits are 57mm tall and it its their tallest heatsink and can be problematic with large CPU coolers.

My G.Skill ripsaws memory just clear my Noctua cooler with 2mm to spare.

The Mushkin Enhanced Blackline should not be a issue as shown in the photos that I have seen.

I would go for the 8Gs since I do work on large Desktop video and audio editing projects. Since you have a ASUS motherboard they recommend to fill the outer two memory slots first for best overclock. Check your manual. Of course using just the outer memory slots can help with CPU cooler clearance issues. It also depends on which way you mount the CPU cooler with fans up and down or sideways.

"Outer memory slots"... Meaning the 2 furthest away from the CPU, right?
