Which rad is better?

I will be cooling an i7 930 @ 4.2ghz and mobo both on water. I am looking at a couple of rads, but not sure which would offer better performance. i'm upgrading my case to a lian li pc-v2120 and I wanted to do a triple rad up top. It turns out that an xspc rx360 is just barely too big and hits my cpu waterblock. So....I am looking to send the rx360 back and get either a thinner triple with higher fpi or get an really thick 280 rad for the front of the case instead to cool the cpu and mobo. Then later down the road use the triple slot up top for a thinner rad for gpu if I decide to cool that.

basiclly, would a thinner 120.3 be equvialent to a thick 140.2 rad?

some rads i was looking into to replace the rx360 that is slightly too big:

None of the above if you're looking for a slim radiator. Get the Black Ice GTS 280 or 360.

If you are only doing the CPU + MB on water - then there are quite a few slim rads that should work ok. If you can wait - I remember seeing a post that XSPC is coming out with a new rad that is supposed to be slim, and have the performance of the rc series..

Thickness of a 280 radiator at the front of the case isn't a concern. Which 280 radiator is going to perform similar or better than the xspc rx360? I can't fit the super thick 360mm radiator at the top so I need to go slimmer on radiator at the top (360mm) or go for a 280mm at the front.

Which radiators would be best? Thinner 360mm or thick as possible 280?
Any suggestions?

The Black Ice GTX 280 if you're looking for the best 280 radiator.

I would go with a 280 in the front and a GTS 360 on top if I were you.

So do you think the black ice gtx 280 will perform on par with the rx360? I will be using cooler master sickle flow fans at 2000rpm/70cfm/ 2.94 air pressure

also, would the gtx 280 be used for cpu/mobo and the gts 360 for gpu in the future (separate loops)?

As far as the 360 goes, which is better? The Black Ice GT Stealth X-flow 360 or the regular GT Stealth 360? What about Black Ice Xtreme 3 X-Flow

The GTS will perform better than the RX radiator with those high speed fans. RX radiators aren't built for high speed, they're built for low speed. GTS are built for high speed.

You don't need separate loops. Just have it all in one loop, even if you use a GPU in the future.

I believe the regular GT stealth is better, but it will perform similarly with the X-flow. The X-flow allows for higher flow rates than the regular GTS. I would not consider the Xtreme 3. It's 40mm thick, while the GTS is 20-25mm thick, giving you much more room.

so is a single mcp655 enough flow to run a gtx 280 and gts 360 through a cpu, mobo, and gpu block(s)?

If the GT Stealth 360 is so good, why is it so inexpensive compared to other triple radiators?

Why about the Black Ice Xtreme III 360? or the X-Flow version?

It's very thin, which uses less materials, but makes up with it with a very high FPI. It's also a lot more restrictive compared to other radiators, but it really isn't a deal breaker.

It won't outperform a GTX radiator, but it will outperform your RX radiator due to it's optimization towards high speed fans rather than low speed fans.

so for my front rad, I've decided to go with BI gtx 280. but for the top triple 120mm I have it narrowed to gt stealth 360 or xtreme III 360. which one would be better? I believe both should fit up top in my v2120. what cfm fans would be sufficient for all these rads? thanks
