The Dangerden's 12v pump is the same as the new Swiftech MCP650 (the D4 manufactured by Laing). The AquaXtreme is the same as the older Swiftech MCP600.

If you have room, go with the D4/MCP650. If space is really tight, use the C-systems'.

I'll be testing this out...replacing my Eheim 1250 with the Blueline Velocity T2.

http://www.bluelineaquatics.com/products/water_pump/velocity.html

make sure that it is shielded before you put it in your case... i don't think my dolphin pump is shielded, so i have to build a box before i can put it in my computer. but that's a higher-end one so it should be. just check first... just to be safe:)

most pumps are pretty quiet, but alot of them are noisy until you glue the impellor to the shaft to prevent vibration there. the via aqua pump has that issue and so does my dolphin pump (i'm just too scared to fix mine:eek: i don't think i have the money to replace it, and the tornado i'm using now while i'm working on my w/c loop is getting annoying)

i'd probably recommend the 12V one. however, i'd recommend the dangerden one over it because the dangerden one is more powerful. i've heard that it buzzes, but it probably has the same fix as the via aqua series.

The Velocity pump looks great for those who wnat to have heir pump in another room or such....maybe if you had an udnerground rad like that one guy did...then you could have teh pump move all teh liquid upstairs and still ahve adequate flowrates, even after counting block restriction, so on.

I can't imagine that the impellor would be THAT expensive to replace. And I doubt you'd screw it up anyway, all you need to do is put a dab of glue or epoxy.

Yeah, the current one is a 'muffled' version of the original D4. Still not as quiet as the MCP600 or Eheim 1250, but it's a lot better than it was. And if it's not quiet enough, the thing runs cool so the whole pump can be wrapped in foam (let see you do that with a Mag3 without cooking it).

Mmmm, T2. Powerful.
