Which PSU?

Never heard of Cougar. Im kind of a PSU snob so Id recommend something from Corsair, Antec, Seasonic or XFX. Thermaltake's Toughpower line is solid as well.

I'd go for the Silverstone. It is a known quantity. Cougar can produce some good stuff and they can produce some crap too. I can't tell you which that one is.

I've only used the ST1000-P but it makes some crackly noises, so annoying I had to switch it to an AX850. Reviews indicate electric noises too. I recommend something by Corsair or Seasonic.

The Cougar is decent, but the Silverstone is better and more efficient as well. Go with the Silverstone.

Seasonic, I've heard of them but which one would you recommend. Ok so the cougar is out! Im more of a minimalist anyway so the silverstone will fit better with its all black finish and 100% modular cables.

Not sure if you want to spend $220 shipped, but this is what I'm using to run a heavily oc'd i7 @4.2 and 3 gtx 480's at 825/2000. Hell of a value. Though Antec makes 1000W designs, I find their 1000W to be underpowered for their rating. This PSU basically sets you up to run any triple GPU combination you can imagine. Also, Antec has some of the best customer support in the PSU business.

It all depends on what you want to power with the PSU. Do you really need 1000+W?

If you need more than 1000 Watts get the Corsair AX-1200, heard good things about it even though its a Flextronics OEM unit, not a Seasonic OEM. But probably you do not need >1k watts and a Seasonic X-850 or Corsair AX850 (pretty much the same unit) will be good enough.
