Which PSU?

one might have a better warranty then the other. i would assume that would be the corsair but im guessing at this point.
 
yeah i would say that. without personally testing both units myself. yeah performance i would say should be the same.
 
oh forgot to post my specs. Probably doesn't matter right now, but here they are...
qx9450 @ 3.4ghz
ati 4870x2
4gb corsair dominator
biostar T-power motherboard
150gb raptor HD
750w Thermaltake toughpower PSU
 
The 750W Toughpower and TX750 are basically the same PSU, except one is modular and one isn't. Since you've got the modular one, I would recommend that you keep what you have.
 
I would say trade him for the Corsair. imo Corsair power supplies are the sexiest out there. So classy.

EDIT: I forgot to add one big difference between the PSUs is that the Thermaltake is SLI Certified so it passed the test and got the diploma while Corsair is only SLI ready meaning they didn't do the test. My buddy was yelling at me when I was window shopping my new rig that "you have to get a SLI Certified or you're a dumbass!" Considering you're running ATIs this is moot but the certification might testify to the reliability. I would still switch though because of how sexy the corsairs are.

Care to explain why are they are "so classy" and "sexy"? The Thermaltake and Corsair are built off the same CWT-PSH platform and should perform very similar. The Thermaltake is modular and the Corsair is not. Sure the Thermaltake has a large white sticker but the Corsair also has a large orange sticker, so I'm not sure what you mean by "classy". Also, SLI certification basically means nothing.

OP, you have the better psu and I don't see a reason to trade.

It's a matter of opinion I guess. I focus on aesthetics, and the corsairs colored on black stickers whether they be red, blue, yellow, green, or orange, would be the "classiness that the Thermaltake drives away from with it's ugliness. And since they are borderline the same PSU I would choose the prettier one. :D
 
Since he already has the Thermaltake, and would have to completely re-wire everything, that would just be a waste of time.

As sn_85 said....SLi certification doesn't matter if you can find out the performance of the actual PSU, through decent reviews. Not to mention, there are different levels of SLi certification, that never seem to be published in the marketing material for PSUs. Also if a PSU is capable of running Sli, it is also capable of running a comparable Crossfire array. Also the TX750 is indeed Sli certified for running at least dual 8800GTX
