Hey everyone! My First post here on the hard forums.. Im just looking to upgrade my Power supply.. Ive been looking at a few but arent sure which ones are good for my setup.. my setup it

AMD Athlon X2 4600+
Kingston 2GB DDR2 667mhz (2 1gb sticks)
BFG 8800GT OC2

I may upgrade my CPU to a phenom soon, aswell as 4gb of 800mhz ram.. and would like some expansion for me to upgrade hardware without a new psu (for eg sli 2 8800's etc)...

Ive been looking at the Corsair 750, but I want modular :(.. so I was looking at the corsair 620.. but is that enough?

also been looking at a few ocz and thermaltake...

any ideas?

thanks!

750 watt psu for that...good lord. that system wouldnt even pull 300 watts under load. the Corsair HX520 would be a good choice.

Yea well he said he wants headroom for the future, and if he isn't comfortable with 620 watts I recommended a 750 watt psu that was modular.

I think the HX520 would be fine for what he has now as well, but he said he might get a phenom and sli in the future.

headroom for the future would be the 620. Components are undergoing die shrinks and will require less power in the future than current ones. Take the Radeon 2900 as an example. A Corsair 620 could easily take a cpu upgrade and run sli if he wanted.

ok cool guys thanks, I think ill pick up a hx620.. im hoping to get a phenom 9700 asap.. thanks for the help
