I am considering purchasing the following rig:

  • CPU: Intel e2160 OC'd to 3.0ghz (perhaps w/ a small increase in voltage)
  • MEM: 2GB High Performance DDR2 800 (likely cas4 @ 2.1v)
  • HD: 160GB Hard Drive 7200rpm
  • MOBO: Gigabyte DS3L p35 (@1333fsb)
  • VIDEO: 8800gts (640mb)
  • SOUND: Onboard
  • OTHER: DVD Burner

My PSU budget is really no more than $70 USD. Based on lots of research, I am considering the XClio 500w, or Corsair 450w. The Egg also seems to have good deals on 550w Rosewills. Which PSU will provide sufficient power for my system. I am open to other suggestions not mentioned also. I want one that will last at least 3+ years. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know of anywhere else that sells the XClio aside from Newegg (it appears they're sold out at the moment)? With the Corsair, is it's 33amps on 12v rail sufficient, or should I reach above my budget for the Corsair 550w (which I dont really want to do)?

33A on the 12v rail is more than sufficient.

Yeah, that is a sweet deal (free shipping too). I will probably get that. Thanks everyone.
