Which PSU brand?

The Corsair and XFX PSUs are about on par with each other. I'd go with the XFX simply because of its lower price. I wouldn't get the Cougar. It's decent, but nothing special.

Oh i see thank you, what about other brands? Overall you would go with the XFX?

Corsair all the way. I say this because I went through about 10 PSUs personally in my life through various builds. I own an AX1200 by Corsair and I have to say this is probably one of the best things I have ever purchased for any of my PCs ever. It actually made my system feel smoother and this is probably because the power delivery is so smooth and ridiculously low on ripple. ----- That last statement is simply opinion with no factual measurements on my part to substantiate it as proof. But take my word on it!

I dont know much about the HX line as with the one you posted a link too but I can tell you that I know nothing of Cougar and I have never owned an XFX. Not that those are bad but I truly like Corsair parts.

I agree with you, I honestly wanted to go everything Corsair in my build. The only reason i am looking around to other brands is cuz of price but I have there ram cooler and case and everything i love i want to add one of there ssds to it too

Does ripples and that stuff really make a diffrence? Thanks

The XFX is every bit as good as the Corsair and it is cheaper. The only reason to get the Corsair instead is if you really want another two years of warranty, but I think 5 years for the XFX unit is plenty.

Yes, ripple and "stuff" do make a difference. There is a reason why power supplies have to adhere to certain standards. If their electrical characteristics are not good enough, it will damage the hardware you connect to them.

Oh i see i used "stuff" because i dont know much about psus....

thanks

The cougar is the cheapest unless you consider the MIR for the XFX unit. I like corsair over the XFX and Cougar.

They're all good PSU's, but I'd personally go with the Corsair or XFX. The Corsair HX850 is a Channelwell tech (CWT) rebrand, and the XFX is seasonic built. Both high quality power supplies.
