Which Programming Language Pays the Best?

I think it would be Java if you count minecraft and android XD

Swift? Really? lol

300k for Cocoa developer? Hard to believe...

I don't know about $300k, but if you are the type of mobile developer who can design, develop, test, qa, an app solo then you can get $200k or me in SF... Especially you have apps out there with users and ratings. Also, Android is hotter than iOS right now pay wise. There just aren't a lot of good Android developers.

Rent is also $4k for a 1 BR but you could always live in the East Bay and Bart in.

It doesn't matter the language that is hot right now, there will always be one that is hotter. Start with one, master it or use it to get a baseline then move into the next language. If you score an awesome job it's usually because you are using more than one language.

On the blog I pretend to write, I once imagined I did some research (mostly by reading unrelated Wikipedia articles) about coder salaries. On bar graphs, it's pretty apparent that the highest paid computer scientists are Excel macro programmers and HTML programmers who use MS Word's "save as HTML" feature to build websites. Here's a graphic I made like ages ago (well, at least a few minutes) that shows this in detail.

Awesome. I do know a lady who is a whiz at "4tran" that makes about 300k a year just in consulting, though.

Programming is stressful which is why i am going into other areas of computing. Administrating. Networking ;)

Does power point count as a language?

Oh em gee! I forgot PowerPoint programmers when I was making my chart! *facepalm* I knew I was forgetting something. Um, just like get a marker and draw a line on your screen somewhere between 4tran and MS Word people and then don't scroll up or down anymore...ever.

200k in SFO is def. not outside the realm of reality.

To be honest, there are just are not a lot of good developers, period, not just Android or iOS.

Well if you can do that, have users and ratings, you may not need an employer.
