Which processor to go with?

So im in the market for a new processor to upgrade my 2500+ heh.
Which would be better for my needs. Amd 4000+ or x2 3800. I mainly use my pc for gaming and dvd encoding, but very rarely is the game the only thing running. Im usualy running other programs like firefox, trillian, ventrillo, email, bit torrent, stuff like that. Is that enough multitasking to give the dual core the edge?

if you were doing dvd encodes while gaming, yes. those programs? no.
