which processor 860 or 750 ?????

I am building a new system.
going with the 1156 gigabyte ud4.

I was/am going to get an 860 but 2 friends say don't waste the money get a 750.

can someone shed some light on this for me?

what am I giving up to save $80.


I want to run either one about 3.4 --3.8 if possible
 
You are giving up Hyper-Threading - the 750 only can run 4 threads at once, the 860 can do 8. For the most part, this only has an impact in extremely CPU intensive tasks such as video encoding. For gaming, the 860 and 750 should be equal more or less, so if that is all you will do I would get the 750 and put the extra money in the video card.
 
You are giving up clock speeds and 4 logical cores that would help greatly on multithreaded applications.

Personally I would go i860.

If it's for gaming an i3 can be just as fast i5 750.

A lot of gaming.
Getting ready for bf bad company, hope its more go and less hype than that damn cod crap.

I think I will go the 860.
