Alright folks, it's buying time and I need suggestions. The PSU is something that can be, at least to some extent, a future-proof purchase...and that's my intent. The 510 Deluxe is definitely out of the question because I want the six SATA and a PCI-E connector for future use. I don't see myself splurging on SLI (or whatever ATI calls it) in the future, but as long as there is a lottery I won't rule it out. So which model shall I opt for, the Express or SLI?

Well, do you think that you'd ever use SLI? If you dont' ever think you will, then save the money. But if you think that you might, might as well get the SLI one.

And if you do ever do SLI, you could always just buy a little adapter cable for the second card

if there is even a chance you'd ever get SLI, I'd suggest the SLI model, since it's only $10 more

also, you might wait until Jan and see what their new Monthly Special is - right now it's 10% off on the regular 510 Deluxe

Ok I'm finally getting around to ordering this thing. My final question is....would it be best, for warranty reasons, to buy it direct? I know some companies are picky when it comes to this.

Personally, I don't see a reason not to.. Up to you.. I found it easy enough to call them up, and order it over the phone..

YES!!! Buy it from them directly if you are worried about warranty. I was an unlucky one and got a PCP&C 510 Express from ExcaliburPC.com and it died after 36 hours.

When attempting to get an RMA thru PCP&C I was forced to jump through too many hoops and when I asked why, they replied that they couldnt automatically no-questions-asked, issue an RMA and cross-ship the PSU since I didnt buy it direct.

They have very good shipping time, but if you are worried about warranty, buy it directly from them.

After saying all that, not trying to scare you, mine is working friggin fantasic. Its all that and the bag of chips.

Oh, I'd opt for the SLI one. Sure, its $10 more, but when you are spending $200, whats a 5% difference?
