I'm modding a G5 Case. The cooling plan is to have two 120x38MM panaflo fans at the bottom of the case, as well as my neopower 480W, using a gutted 120x25MM fan as a spacer.

Cool air gets sucked in the bottom, and ends up being pushed out the all aluminum grill front/back(mostly front). It's an all Push design, no pull whatsoever.

The question is, what fans should I use. I'm pretty much set on panaflo, but the question is what model is a tradeoff between near silence and decent airflow (All intake fans will have a 120MM foam filter, so that will restrict some airflow).

Or should I just get the highest end model and put it on a rheostat?

IMO it would be more effective to have those two fans on the bottom expel hot air from the CPU and have a single fan in the top left bringing air into the case. I guess that would increase the number of fans, but you could get quieter individual fans that way.
 
If I can help it at all, nothing goes on the top left. Remember, the G5 case has an almost see through front.

Besides, having a pull design means my entire front grill will be taking in air, dust bowl waiting to happen. Negative pressure is not an option for this case in this environment.

Are your fans going to be filtered? If not, you'll get dust in the case regardless of "positive" or "negative" pressure (differences between inside and outside the case).

Oops- just read that you will have filters. What kind of environment will this be in? I'd go with Mediums if noise is omewhat of a concern, Highs if airflow is.

They will be filtered. This machine will stay clean, but it will need weekly filter cleanings. :/

I should note that the fans at the bottom have a secondary, future purpose. I plan on watercooling in the next six months. I plan on mounting a BIP2 on those fans.

Air flow is not a huge concern. It is a hot environment, but I don't have any real heat issues even with a SuperLanboy using stock fans.

I'll go for the mediums then, besides, sidewinder has them on sale.
