I have a P4 2.4GHZ 800 mhz FSB chip that I run at 3.0GHZ with a 1GHZ FSB.
I have 1GB of PC4000 DDR (2x512MB) in dual channel mode so I can keep the 1GHZ FSB and memory timings at a 1-1 ratio.
I have a 36 GB raptor, a 120, a 160, and a 200GB --- 7,200 hard drives.
I have a DVD/CDR drive.
I have a Nvidia 5800FX vid card.
I don't want to upgrade any of my components. I have no need to - - - I just wanted some advice on which shuttle would be a good fit. I know fitting all the hard-drives isn't going to work so I'm not too worried about that, but fitting two hard-drives would be good(raptor and 200?), and I could hook up the rest of them through external USB cases. This PC would be primarily for gaming and internet use. Don't tell me to get an AMD, I don't want one. I like hyperthreading, even HARD[OPC] comparisons will tell you that a PC with hyperthreading will feel faster than anything else in everyday use. I don't have to have the BEST performance in any single game. Just healthy performance all around...Therefore my current P4 tower setup is fine. I would just like to import my components to something with less noise and smaller form factor.
Which shuttle form factor PC's would be a good place to start. I've never looked seriously at these...I would still like to be able to overclock if possible, because my intel chip is rock stable and runs well at 3.0GHZ and 1GZ FSB, and I would like something that supports dual channel memory. I was looking at the XPC's, but cost is also a concern. Good looks are semi important as well.
Any recomendations?
