(sorry title should say opteron not opterion)

I was thinking to get a opteron cpu, but not sure which oen to get. I was looking at the 165, 170, 175, and 180 models, I notice they haver a 9x, 10, 11, and 12x multiplier respectively. Which one of these processors is good for this setup:

Asrock 939Dual-Sata2 (volt modded)
Kingston 2x512 Value Ram

I have another build with the same mobo but different ram (2x1gb Kingston Value ram) and different processor (x2 3800) that runs at either 9x300 or 10x270 both giving 2.7ghz stable...

from what i recall the 170 should be the best proc for overclocking. the 165 does well, but the 170 has the 10x which lets it hit a bit higher.

Personally, I'm going to go with the 185 with a 13x multi.

I plan to keep this proc. and upgrade in a year or so to a 939/PCi-E platform, so that proc should do well for me especially if I can get it to around the 2.8 - 2.9 mark

I have an opty 185. I have ran the chip in two boards now. An Asus A8N32SLI Deluxe and an Asus A8RMVP Deluxe. On both boards I have been able to run the chip at 3Ghz with 1.45 v or 3.25G with 1.5v. I personally run it at the 3Ghz because it runs 2 deg C cooler at idle and about 6 deg C cooler under full load. I am water cooling the proc. At the 3.25Ghz it would max out around 52 deg C and at 3 Ghz it maxes out at 46 deg C. The room temp is at 78 deg F so roughly 25 deg C.
