Ok I bought a PSU but the fans did not work, do not really trust the company, but anyways.. I am returning it next week and getting a brand new one.. I can wait 2 weeks or buy this one..

http://www.xoxide.com/logisys-pitbull-ps500w-black.html

If I buy the one above will it handle my :: Amd Athlon 64 3400+, Geforce 6600GT, 2GB 333MHZ Ram, 80GB and 200GB Hardrives, dvd/cd-rw drives, Abit AV8 Mobo

Or is the one that the fans blew out better>> http://www.xoxide.com/500waassuuvr.html

Which is better?? WHY??? And by how much... Either way I will have both of them I bough thte one up there ad will get the new aspire once they RMA it for me which will take long.. Soo????????

Thank You Much..

Yup, please to read the stickys and then try to remember that a $50 PSU is probably not a good match for your system.

That has NOTHING to do with it.. You mean Oh my system is good but an arab rip offing dumbhead is selling a 350 watt 2 weak amps for $500.. LETS get that because its expensive..

I would take the first one. But on the other hand they are pretty damn weak.

Hey! You came here asking US for help remember?

I don’t care if you spend $10 and blow your system sky high, but when you do don’t come back here and complain, ok?

And keep your racial slurs to yourself please, totally uncalled for.

Was not racist.. it is just that some arib people do tend to charge higher.. Why is this wolrd down your throat when you mention another race.. lmao anyways.. How are they weak?? 500 watt isnt enough?? And how will this blow up my system?? It is'nt powerful enough?? IO ran my pc on a generic 350watt and restarted all the time.. maybe u can help me?

i'll explain this the same way it was explained to me a few months ago...

it costs "X" amount of money to make a product of "Y" quality and "Z" capability. you will pay at least this "X" amount no matter what product you choose... you can certainly buy a product that puts out "Z" capability and *looks* like it should have "Y" quality, yet is less than "X", but you will pay the remaining money later... in repair costs.

i personally would go with something that is larger than "X" because (except in some odd cases) you get a product worth quite a bit.

in that box i'd put an enermax 660w whisper psu... it's atx12v v.2.0 compliant and it costs $300... but you will NEVER see a thread on [H]ard|Forum about a problem related to an enermax psu.

Ok man look we all know that its not gone blow up your system but a $50 PSU might not be the most stable one out there. Remember Watts are not every thing all they are is just power that you can use up. Then there is the thing that is important your rails. Your 3.3V rail is responseble for your GPU, CPU, and HDD. Your 12V rail is responseble for you fans etc.
And all these rails have amps to them and that is what you have to look at to get a good stable PSU. Look at this PSU it's only 510Watts but look a the rails wich bring up the price in to the $200 range. Click Here!

Ok Listen. Read the stickies like you were told and stop being an asshole to people who try to help you. Go read the sticky called "Before Making a Thread About Buying a PSU..."
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=792566
You'll recognize it as the one you ignored when you made this topic. It answers all your questions. Wattage doesn't matter much. Amperage and stability are much more important. PSUs are one of the few things that the higher priced items are (almost) always better than the lower priced ones. Another good rule with PSUs is if it has pretty glowing lights, it will most likely kill your computer.

swirly... you're being a n00b again... i thought you outgrew that a couple weeks ago.

;) :D

Yes you helped.. but first thing I gotta say lol, is that I am not bein an asshole because I said arab.. lol anyways second, the lights on the fans DO NOT burn on or kill a pc, my frined has like 5 and his pc hasbeen running for like 5 years... and thanks about the amp things.. I am NOT spending $200 on a psu unless you send me 150..

Did anyone say you had to spend $200? No.

Did you shoot down people who were trying to give you good advice? Yes (which begs the question, why ask for advice if you're going to do what you're going to do anyway?)

No-one was saying the lights burn out a PSU. What they were saying is that when a manufacturer has to make a PSU "pretty" with glowy lights, lots of fans, UV innards, or a silver-coat finish in order to sell it (even moreso if they then sell it for $50) that you're almost sure to be buying a PSU that has lots of flash and little substance. In the case of one of the power supplies you linked to, it's also likely to give off a ton of noise due to having more fans than anyone needs to keep a power supply cool. In the case of the clear one, it's going to look pretty ugly in 6-8 months when it's got all sorts of dust in it. You wouldn't buy a Kia automobile and expect it to have a six-second 0-60 time because someone stuck a three-foot wing on the back of it, would you? This is a similar situation, but with different equipment.

Notice that neither of these power supplies had specs for amperage on their rails. In fact, neither of them had any real specs listed at all other than possibly ATX compliance. Chances are quite high that neither of these units will run your computer stably, and if you want a good supply that does so, you're going to need to look at spending $80-120 to get one. It's that simple. Brand names you can trust cost money. If you don't believe that, you can wait until your system suffers from instability, or you blow a power supply, or it fries your equipment.

Finally, I've met some decent Arabs, Asians, and other people in the computer business. Every business has its good people and its crooks, and perhaps you should just leave ethnicity out of it no matter what your personal opinion is, eh?

Lol yes true.. just based off my expierience.. I hae been ripped off before.. But dude, I checked the PSU review (TOP PSU) and it handled an Amd Athlon 64 system with plnty of power on the side.. Lol whateverrr.. Thank you.. And can you point out where I shot down the people who are helping me? It seems no matter what forum I go on, there has to be some type of nerds that take talking in caps an offence..................

Yes, there are a few reveiws out there on the "Pitbull". Its obviously not a top of the line PSU but from what i have read about it it will get the job done, unless you are an extreme overclocker of course :p . Bottom line the PSU looks rad is sleeved has decent reviews. Its worth the 40bux but I did notice the 12v rail seeping a bit below 12volts in the reveiws, not bad in my opinion for the price anyhow you should really research things before posting so you wont get flamed.....im out.
