I heard that the 7800GTX is really great and have a lot of potenial, it probably is the new generation technology. First let me tell u what i am currently running:

-Geforce 5200
-SOYO SY-P4X400 Dragon Ultra
-2.4 ghz
-1 Gb ram

I want to upgrade my video card and (maybe) my CPU too? I want to play BATTLEFIELD2!Cuz when i play San Andrea it lags(not smooth) in 800x600, low revo. too.
I want to buy a video card that is not over 300(+/-)and not willing to upgrade the card again within a yr or so.
So those ones come across my mind are GeForce6800 Ultra,GeForce6600 GT....um..the Geforce7800GT, it is really worth the money buy it NOW?because it might out of style very fast and the cost will drop too?
Between the 6600&6800Ultra, i read something say that they are not a whole lot diff.? would u rather spend on the 6600, 6800 or the 7800?

I'm currently running the 6800 Ultra, and it flies. Between the 6800 and 7800, they're both excellent cards. If you're on a budget, pick the less expensive one, but buy a good brand - eVGA, XFX, BFG.

If you're wanting to upgrade your cpu, upgrade your mobo as well. If you want to game, get an AMD.
 
I'm running a 6800GT and I'm bottlenecking it with the rig in my sig (Hey, I'm a poet and don't know it). Hopefully when this gig of PC3200 shows up, it will give me the headroom to push my 2.2ghz to almost 3Ghz.

Just to clarify, are you saying that your card is being bottlenecked by your system, or your system is being bottlenecked by your card?

Sorry, my card is being bottlenecked by my system.

My memory will only allow me to OC to only about 2.6 and then I start getting mem errors. I will be going to a 2.8 and oc that as far as I can go and going to PC3200 ram. That should help quite a bit. Oh, and eventually the mobo. Probably next week sometime.

lets put the 7800GTX aside for now.
So between the 6600 & 6800Ultra, i read some magazine says they are not very different?
But if i am sorta tigt on the budget would you still recommand to get the 6600 or rather pay more to get the 6800Ultra?
I want to know if it worth to buy the 6600 and it wont last long. Or just get the 6800 cuz it will last a good while(gaming wise)...?

Both are great cards. If you have the means, go for the 6800 - no question.

Yeah, with that ram being mismatched, who knows how much you're actually able to use.

The key to a successful system is a quality mobo. Take a look at the reviews we've done and choose carefully.
