which one SLI or Crossfire

You only need one crossfire card in a crossfire setup. One crossfire card and one non-crossfire card.
 
some guys are running sli on this board with edited drivers. check vid card forum here and xs forum. but its not official. or supported in any way.
 
I'd run Crossfire for two reasons: 1 - it is officially supported 2 - you can run ATI cards and not nVidia.
 
So I was looking at newegg's selection for 1900 XT's, how do I know which is a 'CrossFire' card and which isn't a 'CrossFire' card?
 
The master card is usually called CrossFire edition. The others are all CrossFire slave cards,
they are simply call X1900 XT or X1900XT or whatever. Look at the pics. If the card has a
weird display connector that is wide and thin it is a master card.

Regular X1900 XT back.

Uh, you don't need a special SLI card to run SLI...simply two of the same video cards. One of the reasons ATI needs to get a clue.

So with ATi (forgive me for I've always had SLI) you have to have the CrossFire Card and then another card. Do the cards have to be the same brand? I'm assuming they don't and I'm also assumign with CrossFire the different clock speeds won't matter either, one card will just underclock.
