im getting a new laptop, a cheap one for everyday homework adn some low quality games like warrock and madden 07.
its a Dell insirion its about 549 bucks.
now there is 2 preocessores i can choose, Mobile AMD Sempron™ 3500+ (1.8GHz/512KB)
OR
AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TK-53
the dual core needs 50 bucks more. I have 1 G on this laptop. It is a Vista Home Basic. I was wondering is it worth it for me to pay 50 bucks more? the best game i wanna run is battlefield 2, nothing above it.
thanks a lot

correct me if im wrong but the dual core is 1.6ghz. so i may be a bit slower in gaming but i would still go for that over a single core, as with a laptop the biggest factor in gaming will be the graphics card (or lack of it).

But i would drop the Vista and try and get hold of XP pro as this will speed up gaming quite a bit.

hope this helps

thanks man but they are about the same i heard?
i cant drop vista its preinstalled lol

dell sells xp with their business computers, so if you want that go check out there business section. I find that their laptops in small business are cheaper anyways.
