Drive 1
Maxtor <something> [this is a regular desktop hard drive]
ATA-66
5400 rpm
13.6 gigs
Drive 2
Fujitsu <something> [this is a laptop hard drive]
ATA-100
4200 rpm
30 gigs
Drive 1 is currently my linux drive on my desktop and I'm thinking of replacing it with Drive 2, but I don't want to "slow" my system down.
I know there are all sorts of variables to calculating drive performance, but is it possible to make a decision on which drive is faster?
ps- yes i know i must be the adapter to make the laptop hard drive work in my desktop.
thanks
