which model slingbox should i get?

I know i dont have the bandwidth for uploading HD quality content. I have directv dvr and i would like to mostly upload to my phone and laptop, maybe also to other computers on my home network.

I know nothing about these and there are several different models available. Which one should i buy?

Do you have a tv tuner card on your home PC? If you do you can use ORB. It'll stream anything on your pc to Laptops, phones, etc. It'll automatically adjust the encoding to match your bandwidth.

I have all my dvd's backed-up on my HDD's just for this reason. That plus I can watch TV anywhere or even share my media with friends.
