Which memory?

well it depends on your system and if it's supposed to have pc3500 ram. otherwise, go corsair or mushkin.

I agree, mine does 2-3-2-6 nicely. I got mine for $210 but it is $220 now. It sucks buying ram right now, no more BH-5 and crappy prices.

I have another question, If a mobo said it supports DDR 400, 333 and lower, would it be smart to get a DDR 466 or 433 ram?

Well, if you have any intention of OCing, get higher rated memory. I'd suggest that PC3500 is the highest you go, because you can still get RAM with tight timings. Anything PC3700 and over will have looser timings (CAS 2.5 - 3, etc.) right now (unless someone made low latency high speed modules lately).

So if you OC, get higher rated memory.

One question though, what CPU do you have? If it's a P4, PC3500 for OCing.

If Athlon XP, PC3200.

Buying PC3700 or higher is a waste of money for current processors. Have your friend buy PC3200 or PC3500 that can run tight timings. The timings will be where the performance comes from. For overclocking just overclock with a divider. Set it to 5:4 or 3:2 depending the processor and how high you want to overclock.
