Hi, I'm hoping you can point me in the right direction to choosing the right LD for me as I'm having a hard time deciding. I'll be buying in January btw but like to plan ahead as there's so many LCD's out there to choose from. I'm also from the UK and will therefore be buying from the UK my max (and I mean max) budget is about £1400. I will be using them for pretty much everything - gaming, watching DVD;s, watching digital tv, word, excel etc. My graphics card is a X800XTPE.
Right....
Originally I was going to go for a dual monitor setup with 2 19" 1280x1024 8ms LCD, 2 of the following that are coming out shortly:
Hyundai L90D+
Samsung LTM190EX
BenQ FP937s+
Would most probably be two samsung but I would wait until review are out. Now my only problem is that I'm stuck with 1280x1024 res.
So maybe I should go with two 1600x1200 monitors - something like the dell 2001fp, 16ms However I started hearing some stories about ghosting and whatknot although I'd still think 16ms would do (wouldn't want any higher mind) Another thing about going upto UXGA (is that what it's called) is that price seems to jump up quite substantially. Which is ok as long as it is worth it - after all my response time has doubled.
I then heard about Dell's new monitor the 2005fpw which is a widescreen 20"/23" 12ms. It was at this stage things started getting out of control - I started looking at a range of 23" widescreen displays. What are your thoughts on widescreen diplays? I know some games don't support widescreen and so things may get distorted. Another thing is some larger widescreen displays (23"+) have pretty high resolutions - would my system keep up? as I know you really want to keep an LCD at it's native resolution. One thing I know for sure is a large widescreen will be very nice for TV and DVD's.
Is the answer to with dual monitor setup with a widescreen LCD and a regurlar smaller LCD.
All opinions on what I should do are welcome
Sorry for the long post.
Thanks, Nick.
