In the market for a 4-port KVM. It must work with the Logitech MX Duo, or at least with a USB mouse with a PS/2 adapter. Needs to have VGA and PS/2 keyboard/mouse. USB and Audio would be nice but not neccesary.

I've been looking at these KVM's:
Belkin OmniView SOHO F1DS104T
Belkin OmniView SE Plus F1DZ104T
IOGEAR MiniView Extreme KVMP GCS1734

Not sure if these will work with the MX Duo. I heard there is a loud annoying beep sound when you switch computers with the Belkins. I've also heard that mouse/keyboard drivers don't work with these. Is that true? I'd really like to use the drivers for the MX Duo :(

Budget is $150-200.
 
Stay away from Belkin, we have a crapload of the 8 port models at work and most of them quit working after the warranty period expired. They were replaced with Raritan. I would highly suggest either Raritan or Avocent. They are pricey, but you will be glad you did.

Look into Raritan Switchman. I've got a cheaper Raritan model and although it has a few problems (occasional mouse freezes for some reason, google search and you will know) it is a great KVM. Switching between machines is very speedy (if all the machines are using the same monitor specs, ie res/freqs). My 4 port also works seemlessly with Linux (it just needs a kernel boot parameter to force exps2 functionality) and it will work with BSD once I can figure out how to feed forced ps2 functionality.

Do yourself a favor and google a LOT on the models you are looking at. More or less what I discovered is that despite great technological advances, KVM's still largely have major problems from nearly every manuf. Good luck!

I think I paid $100 for mine, I believe it is the lowest model that they make. I'd try to go one model up if you can, though I don't understand exactly how Raritan works modelwise. The only beef I have with Raritan Switchman's is the bloody mouse freezing. RARELY (if you switch very often) Windows might lose its settings on repetition [easy fix: open keyboard settings, change something, change it back, hit apply]. Everything else works fantastic. Belkin's imo have much bigger problems (slow transitions, problems with desyncing). Raritan's work nicely because they apparently use an emulation chip for every port whereas most other companies use one emulation chip to handle all machines. Have fun researching.

Blah... still havn't had time to research.

I better start soon. I might as well just go with the IOGear because dad has a 2-port and its great. I'll research sometime this weekend i guess. :sigh:
