The Swiftech Apex Ultra kit orrr....

The Alphacool [size=+1]Cool Answer II 240?

Both in the same price range. Similar components[/size]
 
I would buy Thermaltake Bigwater 745 and save the hell alot of money. You will get Triple 120mm radiators, excellent Pump, and reservior. The kit is execellent for the money $135 plus shipping.
 
Swiftech if your not going to piece meal. Stay away from $99.00 watercooling kits at compuseless.
 
i have heard nothing but bad things about thermaltakes quality when it comes to watercooling(and lots of other stuff).

go with the swiftech kit.
i started with an ultra kit...im glad i did. great way to jump into watercooling.
 
Go with the swiftech if you must have a kit, but I would recommend buying parts individually.
 
What about the alphacool kit?

Reason im buyin a kit, especially the swiftech, is that all the parts are of high quality to start with. D5 pump, nice rad, nice water block. Pretty decent already. Apart from the rad, what other improvements could be made to the swiftech kit.

Iv already got a bigwater standard. My big Typhoon is better
 
Alphacool FTW =)

It uses 1/4" ID tubing so you'll probably have an easier time routing the tubing than with big, fat, ugly, stiff 3/8" (or 7/16" or 1/2") tubing, and while the Apogee isn't really the best block you can get for the tubing ID it's based on, the water block that comes with the Alphacool kit, the NexXxos XP takes top spot at www.watercoolplanet.de . Kits based on skinny tubing are generally quieter than large-bore kits, from what I heard.
 
Smaller tubing does nothing for noise.

Go with the swiftech if you want the best performance.
 
the alpha cool only uses 1/4" ID tubing? I thought it used 1/2" the same at the swiftech. Thought it looked like a good kit. Oh well. the swiftech it is. Thanks guys

The Swiftech kit is a better performance primarily due to the Storm WB.

I would flame you... but everything's already been said. It's kinda funny that you don't even have a watercooling system (or at least I'm pretty sure that your sig says you're on air) and yet you're in the WC forum making reccomendations.

Or, I could put it this way:

IIRC the Alphacool kit is set up for 3/8" (10mm) ID tubing.

No, I'm not a European. I just don't see the point in using a large amount of resources to get something done when you can do the same with less. As for the watercooling thing, either every single review I've read on low-flow kits were written by low-flow zealots, or a sh**load of people like to buy under-performing cooling equipment at a higher price than high-flow stuff. And about the "it's wrong to believe that bigger is better," I didn't say that big is bad, I just don't like his fundamentalist attitude to low-flow equipment when they can perform just as well as high-flow equipment. Or the graphs and charts I've seen are misleading.

thicker tubing always means the comp owner has a bigger penis. i suggest going for 1/2" tubing.
 
My girlfriend says that the thinner stuff works okay if you use it correctly, but the thicker stuff just cools better.
