when i go into my videocard properties window and look at the overdrive tab it says my 9800xt is running at 57*C. I just got ati tray tools and it says my card is running at 37*C...

which one am i supposed to believe?

If I remember right I think there are a couple temp sensors. Reg, Core and PCB, at least I know some cards are like that. Not sure about the 9800

Does one say core or whatnot ?

the overdrive says: graphics processor status: Current temp.

the tray tool just says GPU temp.

Unless you have water cooling, the GPU is not running at 37º

I'd say the Tray Tools is wrong.

Agree, 57*C sounds very likely for that card.

alright thanks. i thought 36 was a little low, but i wasn't going to give up hope :p

it used to run at 70C untill my stock fan broke on my heatsink so i got a new heatsink.

Don't worry, you should be perfectly alright if you keep it under 80*C ;)
