So far, my only complaint is that I can't seem to figure out why the BIOS won't flash with my P5NSLI, other than that,

Let me guess - you've got 0401 and you're getting a "downgraded" error? I've read that if you flash to an older BIOS (0202, for example), you can then flash to the newest one.

Also check out the EVGA 650i Ultra - it's about $100, so if you don't need the second video card slot, it's a very good budget candidate. Here's the review...

You should list your price range so you can get accurate suggestions. One person's budget board may be another person's enthusiast board. :D A $250 EVGA 680 may be a budget board for some compared to a $350 Asus Striker Extreme.

The windows flasher will also let you do it. Be warned, though, that both of the latest BIOS releases break CPU multi adjustment.

it doesn't have one. I use it for basic surfing and the such. The onboard nick cuts out `320 fsb and seems there is no way to fix it. I have done this:
e6400
p5l-vm
sata hd
Micron 533 ram

the micron ram is the trick. it will take up to 320fsb before it quits. Change the fsb to 300 and 2.4 is what you will get. :D
Rock solid stalbe board.

Tell me how to "pin mod" the processor. please. :D

I just set up a P5L-VM last night. It wouldn't overclock much at all with an E4300 until I pin-modded the CPU to 266 FSB. Now it goes to 300+. How are you doing with the PCI lock? Doesn't seem like it has one.
