System's in my sig... sorry this is kinda long. :(

Yesterday, I upgraded to the latest nvidia drivers. My first time rebooting, my monitor didn't come on. I wasn't sitting right there so I don't know if it got into windows at all but on subsequent retries, it wouldn't even show the bios screen or anything but I'm pretty sure it was booting up because it was beeping at all the normal times and numlock was coming on like it does when it gets to windows. Soooooo i was like "great, my vid card died". As I was calling BFG to see what could be the problem, it worked! Got into bios and it said "CPU has been changed or is unworkable, please reset something or another in softmenu". So i went in, set the cpu to stock speeds (for some reason, it had actually reset to whatever fsb would make it run @ 1600 mhz instead of 2600). Get into windows and everything seems fine. Try to play something 3d (Tiger woods 2005 i believe) and the video turned off. I reboot... no monitor @ boot (no bios... nothing). Every time I DO get it to work, it says the "CPU is unworkable" thing... but the settings all stay the same now, i don't have to reset them. At first I thought it was a vid card thing because of no video and still booting but now I'm not sure. Could it be my cpu? motherboard?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks!!!

Ok well.. i'm confused now. I swapped vid cards w/ my roommate. Mine worked fine in his pc, his worked fine in mine. Was able to play games and everything. Switched back... uninstalled drivers/driver cleaned/reinstalled... everything seems fine now. I guess maybe it might have not been seated right but i checked that before i swapped. Ah well... hopefully it'll stay 'fixed'.

If video display would not even come up in the BIOS screen, it has nothing to do with any drivers. I suspect your video card did work its way out of a slot *slightly* and caused the problem. I see this a lot with people who's motherboards do not have that handy AGP clip to keep it properly seated.

Usually happens because their montior data cord applied some force to the card (due to turning monitor, etc.)

Anyways, it works now, so all is good!
