Will it be best to run a 133FSB 1:1 so Ram is underclock at 266 (1.6@2.13)

or

Running a FSB of 125FSB 3:4 Ram is at rated speed of 333 (1.6@2.0)

Both is stable with the 1.6A at stock VCore.

Thanks!

Benchmark it and find out! I personally found on my asus a7n8x board, that running the ram and the FSB asynchronously provided an inherent performance loss, regardless of anything else taken into account.

Okay, now I have it up to FSB 137 VCore bumped by .050 and 1:1. CPU is running @ 2.192. I am trying to hit 2.2 and I am done.

Running 1:1 is pretty good, I performed some benchmarking with Sandra 2003 and under Cache&Memory Benchmark, it outperformed the 2.0 DDR333 (FSB125, 3:4) by a longshot. So that is a good thing right?

O yeah, since I am running the Ram at a lower speed, I was able to change the latency to 2-2-2-6 from 2-3-3-7. Is this good or no?

And I have one more question. Am I able to change the FSB but still keep the DRAM speed at stock. So if I want my FSB to be 138, can I keep my DRAM at 166?

you just need to go into bios and set your ram at specific speed...i think...that is how my board is if i put "auto" then it increases the speed according to my fsb but if i set it at "333mhz" or "266mhz" then it stays at those speeds no matter what my fsb is
is this anyhelp?

I guess that only works on newer motherboard or something. My IT7 Max2 does not have that option.

Usually motherboards will have two settings: either set the ram speed by SPD(speed, or the fsb speed) or by some divisor, whether that's listed as 3/4 or 75% or whatever(on my motherboard, I choose from percentages, others use fractions).

Yeah, mine uses fractions. The problem is that I am running DDR333 with FSB of 166. Since my FSB is 138, I am not able to do a 3:4 because my Ram will not jump up to 184 which is a DDR368 speed.

I saw on some webpages that certain motherboards can have their Ram running at 166 (DDR333) and their CPU running at a different FSB.

What motherboard are you using by the way.

oh forgot to mention i got an asus board so yea i think my setting are different from yours...sorry bout that

Is ahrite man. Asus, then I am pretty sure that the newer Asus board for 478 chipset have the ability to do the same right?

newer asus boards?
i have a P4C800 deluxe which is pretty new i think but if you're talking about the P4C800-E deluxe then im pretty sure it'll have the same bios layout

OO ok.

I got a question tho. What is considered a pretty good Aquamark03 score? Especially for my setup.

i don't know but i think when i had my friends nvidia GFX 5900NU with the system in my sig i had a score of like 20K or 30K i think

Cool thanks. I was able to score 20000 with their given settings.

How is the Audigy 2 Platinum running? I am thinking of upgrading the Sound Card soon.

on new egg the new audigy 2zs platium or something is like 170
that's only if you want the remote and the front imput thingy

Yeah, I doubt that I want the Live Drive and the Remote. The PCI version is around $90 bucks ain't it? For that price point, the Audigy 2ZS is my best bet?

Also, is 2-2-2-5 considered good?

audigy is usually for audiophiles like myself if you're just gonna use it for gaming i recommend something cheaper, however audigy does give you better fps because it runs it's own audio computations on the card instead of sending it to the cpu.

yea lower is better but i think thats almost as low as you can go but i don't know too much about ram latency
