Which Hard Drive?

On zipzoomfly.com there is the http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=100590-OP SATA 7K250 drive

and the http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=100590-2 7K80 Drive SATA2 Drive

The SATA drive has a lower seek time.
I have a DFI NF4 ULTRA board so i can use SATA2.

I first had a 80 GB western digital that fried and needed a hard drive asap so i went to best buy and got the 80 GB 7K250 PATA 2 MB cache and I still got the receipt to take it back to get a faster drive. So is it worth getting one of these 8MB cache hard drives with SATA/2 compared to a 2 MB cache PATA hard drive. And which one since i know SATA2 isant that much faster but will it be faster then the SATA drive with lower seek time?

Im only wanting the fastest hard drive between the two unless its not worth taking back my current drive.
 
Keep in mind that the term "SATA II" is nothing more than a marketing term. The 8mb or 16mb cache will certainly be benifical over a drive with only 2mb, but the 3gb/s that "SATA II" has to offer will do nothing for you in this situation.
 
Do you think the 7K250 would be faster than? The 7K250 are known for their meow sound I dont know if the 7K80 would have it. The 7K80 isant that much more so i could get either one. I have seen a short review of the 7K80 on amdzone and when in SATA2 mode the load times were faster than in SATA.
 
The 7k250 has faster seek times. You will not be able to saturate the 150MB/s bus, so 3Gb/s would do you no good. Go for the 7k250.
