Sorry to make a thread like this buuut

I'm trying to decide between two fluid bearing fans and I can't tell which would be better for me. There are two versions of the S-Flex I'm looking at, the 800RPM and the 1200RPM models, but if the performance hit on the 800 is too much then I can stay with the 1200. Then there is the Arctic Cooling AF12, which has a nice frameless design that will reduce vibrations (which should help because I don't have any pads) but runs at 1500RPM. That might be too loud but the fan could be quieter because of the design. I'm perfectly fine with a 38mm fan.

I really want the quietest solution but then again I want low temps too :D, any recomendations?

And since my motherboard can't do it's own undervolting and I don't have a controller I will be running at full 12V

It looks great, but the CFM is definately too low. Lower than my current fan...I'm just guessing though as I can't get the specs on the 120mm fan that came with my Raidmax X1 case.

Any sales of the variable speed model?

I have 7 Scythe fans (3 on Rad, 4 for case on fan controller) and I swear you can't hear these fans. :D

i agree i have 4 sythe older non sflex fans that are 60cfm 28dba and they are great... i hear the air though my radiator but not the bearing of the fan...

but you could get some panaflo M1As and run them at 7v or some enermax's and run them at 7v

you dont need a controller or mobo to run 7v

its really easy and works really well.

these are also good and $3

or these @7v are about 60-70cfm and 25-30dba. and alot more pressure from their 38mm thickness. these are some of the best fans that people run on thier watercooling radiators.

whatever fans you buy, stay away from Panaflo or NMB-MAT.

I bought some 80mm Enermax thermal control Fan. then I bought 80mm ULTRA QUIET Panaflo fans thinking they are better and quieter. but Enermax is quieter and cheaper.

I bought 92mm Panafo ultra quiet fan and it is as loud as my 6-year-old ball bearing fan.
Then I bought 92mm Scythe ball-bearing 1400 RPM fan to replace the noicy 92mm panafo. it turned out that the scythe fan is made by NMB-MAT, which is panaflo. it is got a noizy motor.

my lesson learned is never buy fans made by panaflo or NMB-MAT. they are expansive and their motor is noizier than the cheaper Enermax.

Another leason learned is that Hydro Wave made by NMB-MAT make more noice if you try to control it by a fan controller. it dosn't like voltage controled

Panfo/NMB-MAT has a solid quality feel and heavier but they are not quiet at all. something about their motor that makes noice
