Which file system is best?

I'm sorry, this is a newb question, but that's what I am I guess (first build parts are in the mail). Anyways, what would be the best file system to use when installing windows on a clean drive, NTFS or FAT? My Dell that I'm using right now uses NTFS, and I was just wondering if there was any advantage to using something different. Thanks a lot.
 
FAT is 'faster,' as the drive does not have to write or read recovery journals, access control lists, and other safety and security features of NTFS. However, you should still stick with NTFS. If makes more efficient use of large (>32GB) volumes, is more resistant to file system corruption, and allows you to control security at the file system level. The more efficent use of large volumes alone is enough to justify sticking with NTFS.
