Hey guys. I'm thinking of buying a DVD burner and I was wondering what would be a good burner to buy? I remember reading an article a little while back here about building the killer system for $1500. I've tried looking for that article since they had a section on the DVD burner that they chose but I can't find that article anymore. I've been looking at LG since I have an LG CD burner right now and I've been extremely satisfied with it. I remember that in the article from before, the DVD burner they suggested was made by Asus, though I can't remember which model. I'm looking for a burner with dual mode, 8x DVD write, and something not too crazy expensive. I'm not looking for a TOP top of the line burner, but something that's fast and works well for the money. Any suggestions as to which DVD burner I should get?

I recently purchased a Pioneer DVR-108D and it has been great. Awsome specs and if you get the retail package it comes with software for it to operate at 75% less noise when viewing DVD movies, etc.

PIONEER DVD+-RW 16X4X16 DUAL LAYER+R 4X CDRW 32X24X40 INT IDE DVR-108D

Definately worth checking out, it can be had for about $99CAN (~76US) locally around my place, so I am sure you could find a good deal on it somewhere.
