Which drivers do i need for my onboard audio?

I've got a MSI k8n Neo4 plat. 1.0 mainboard, I've been using the onboard sound trouble free for well over a year now. Suddnely last week i developed an audio issue in the Punisher PC game, where all of the voiceovers refused to play, sounds in the menus except for the voices, are fine but in game only some of them play Re-install of the game did nothing. Then i realized i also wasn't able to do any MIDI audio playback in embeded video.

A few hours of searching gave me a registry fix for my embeded video problem, and i assumed the audio in the game was fixed too, wen't to fire it up tonight, no joy.

now i've tried updating my audio drivers both from MSI's site and Nvidia's without any luck, what driver's do i need exactly for my mainboard?

Also if you have any other insight to my issue i'd love to hear it.

The MSI k8n Neo4 plat. 1.0 mainboard uses a Realtek ALC850 Direct Sound AC97 audio chip.

The MSI branded driver is here:

nforce 4 drivers don't work? They've always worked for my DFI nf4 Ultra-D.

They don't seem to, i've re installed several times and i still am unable to select a midi playback device in the sound section of the control panel.
