which drive for my new build

Need suggestions

I have 2 older 36 gig raptors with 8 meg cache on raid currently on my pc...

Im gonna build a new system with q6600/8gig ram etc etc.

Should i get a new hardrive like a maxtor 500gig 16meg cache 7200rpm as my main drive?? Or would the 2 raptors on raid be faster for my main drive??/

If the raptors would be faster im thinking i could use the maxtor as a secondary drive.

What would be faster??
 
The 2 raptors in RAID-0 should blow away the single Maxtor 500GB. One raptor would probably be faster, even.
 
The 360GD raptors are much slower than modern 7200 RPM drives, actually, although the 360ADFDs are faster. I'd recommend the single Maxtor.

Get the WD7500AAKS. It's blazing fast. The 500 GB drives don't even hold a candle to it.
