i think the dell would be fine; its god more video inputs and its bigger. got the 1600x1200 res youll want for movies and stuff. i have a 2005FPW and its great. not perfect (ahem backlighting) but i honestly dont care. ive never noticed ghosting/backlighting problems when i play CSS at all...hopefully the 2001fp youd get if you ordered one would be as good or better

yes, from my experience, dell lcd monitors come with both vga and dvi cables
